Come join the Coaching team at Houston’s first and only running studio located in Sawyer Heights. We are now hiring Strength Class Coaches to contribute to a community-driven, high-energy, ultra-fun studio experience. You will not only bring the energy, but you ARE the energy and one of the main reasons our runners will keep coming back.

Here’s what you’ll need to have:

Past experience leading a group strength training class (preferably with runners)

You will be teaching strength training. Which means you need to be able to command a room full of people and give instruction on everything from how to properly use equipment to form correction to stretching. Because you will be using weights and bands, it’s important that you have full knowledge of proper body mechanics, equipment use, and movement. Ideally you are a runner yourself or you have worked with runners before and can incorporate their specific needs in to your training.  We’ll want to make sure you speak clearly, have patience, understand basic teaching principles and can multitask (speaking, adjusting music, demonstrating, helping runners, managing the lights, etc)

Strength and Conditioning Coach certifications (preferred)

Knowledge of physiology, biomechanics, and functional strength movements is essential.  As such, we prefer that all of our strength coaches are certified by a recognized certifying organization including but not necessarily limited to: NASM, CSCS, CrossFit, ACE.  Other programs/training will be reviewed and considered.

The ability to “perform” with personality

You either have it or you don’t, but it’s critical. CRITICAL, to our programming and to our runners. There is really no such thing as being too enthusiastic and our platform will be your stage to educate, motivate, and inspire our runfam. You are curious about our runners and what their goals are, you seek to get to know them by name, and you are there to help them throughout their journey.

Professionalism and “ownership”

You’re going to need to show up to class on time, be responsive, come to meetings when necessary, and find substitutes when you can’t make it to class. We expect you to be courteous to EVERYONE — fellow staff and customers.

You should feel “ownership” of your classes. Putting in your effort to fill them and make them the best they can be. You’ll not only representing your own brand, but you’ll be representing RacePace as well and we’ll want you to be proud of that and shout it from the rooftops. You aren’t just clocking in and clocking out, we want you to feel integrally connected to the business and we want to hear your ideas, suggestions and observations.

Class times and compensation will be discussed during our initial conversations, but you will need to have a flexible schedule as classes are typically held in mornings and evenings, weekends/weekdays.  If you think you’ve got what it takes, you can send your information to
